Zechariah12:10 And I will pour upon the house of David, and upon the inhabitants of Jerusalem, the spirit of grace and of supplications: and they shall look upon me whom they have pierced, and they shall mourn for him, as one mourneth for his only son, and shall be in bitterness for him, as one that is in bitterness for his firstborn.
Several years ago, I read some books on prayer and I would be glad if you can get them and read for your spiritual edification. One of such books is: Seven Great Prayer Warriors. In my discovery, I summarized that the ability to pray differs because beyond ordinary and surface level praying, there is an anointing to pray.
Men that God will use for mighty things needs to go deep in prayers. They also must understand the art of prayer and not pray like ordinary men. If God has committed into your hands a huge task, you need to ask for the anointing to pray differently from ordinary people especially intercessory prayers. John Fletcher prayed till he literarily felt God's power ballooning his body. He had to say 'Father, take thy hands off thy servant because they servant can burst'.
When the anointing to pray comes upon you, 5 hours prayer may look like 5 minutes. There are men that prayed and took over a city and their nations for God. It was on record that the Queen of England said' I fear the prayers of John Knox than 10,000 British armies'.
We need to get to that level where both humans and demons would be afraid when they see us praying.
