Zechariah1:17 Cry yet, saying, Thus saith the LORD of hosts; My cities through prosperity shall yet be spread abroad; and the LORD shall yet comfort Zion, and shall yet choose Jerusalem.
Why do you want to prosper? Several years ago, I desired that God will use me to have a major breakthrough in the world of scientific research so that royalties would be paid to my account and I'll use a large percentage in funding the gospel. I just imagined that if I discover the cure to one of the incurable ailments, the gospel will take a larger chunk of the proceeds.
That's how kingdom people think. God won't bless those that want to consume wealth for their lust. The purpose of prosperity is for God's city (kingdom) to spread. My desire is to see bible given freely to people in bookshops so that people won't use poverty as an excuse of not being able to get a bible. The gospel truth is that, God's work needs more than sufficient finances.
The gospel is free but ministry cost something. Let me ask again, why do you want to prosper? If the purpose isn't for the expansion of God's kingdom and spreading of the gospel, God may not bless you. God is a God of purpose, every dime that enters into your hand is for a purpose. Some complain about not being blessed but do you pay tithe? How much of your finances have you committed to kingdom projects?
For a child of God in God's kingdom, prosperity isn't an accident but a response to a heart that is willing to sacrifice for the expansion of God's kingdom.
Father, I receive grace to commit my finances to kingdom assignments In Jesus name. Amen
