Hosea14:4 I will heal their backsliding, I will love them freely: for mine anger is turned away from him.
I read about a preacher of the gospel that slipped into sin and fell ill to the point of hospitalisation. Another Pastor also took ill and was admitted in the same ward with this preacher. The second preacher engaged him in a conversation and found out that he had backslided. He was restored and not long after, he died.
Who is a backslider? A backslider is simply someone whose devotion, commitment and passion for God has reduced. Many think backsliding is only when believers stop going to church but that is not true because backsliding is a gradual process that culminates in destruction. It is possible to be a preacher, singer, usher, etc in a backslidden state.
Today, God is saying to you that he would cure your backsliding and show you his free love. One thing that makes backsliders not to return to God is because they feel guilty and unworthy of God. They are not sure if God would accept them again. If you fall into this category, God's anger is now pacified and he wants you to return to him. God is missing you.
There is hope of restoration for you if you would return to Christ.
