The Pharisees did not believe that Christ was the messiah to come. Every other person accepted him just as he was but they wanted to see a spectacular sign to prove that Christ is messiah. They came to Jesus asking for a sign but he told that he won't show them any sign except that of the Jonah experience. They were putting signs ahead of faith which is the wrong order.
We live in a generation where people want to see a sign before they believe God truly exists. Some would not even believe God's voice until they see a sign, they want something in the physical to confirm the spiritual- that is crass lack of faith. The devil makes his point to us in the realm of reasoning and physical appeal but faith is God's way of reaching to us first before physical manifestations.
Many people are like the Pharisees today, they can't put faith in the written word of God and pray. They keep running from pillar to post seeking instantaneous 'miracles'. If you pray a simple prayer of faith for some believers, if you haven't vibrated or poured a whole bottle of oil on them, they won't take you serious. If you are a sign seeker, the devil will keep manipulating you.
All you need is faith to reach God and get all you need then manifestation will follow, if you reverse this order by seeking signs first, the devil will defeat you perpetually.
Father, I receive grace to walk strictly by faith and not to be a sign seeker In Jesus name. Amen
