1 Samuel 15:23 For rebellion is as the sin of witchcraft, and stubbornness is as iniquity and idolatry. Because thou hast rejected the word of the Lord, he hath also rejected thee from being king. KJV
I know an anointed man of God several years ago who had a strong prophetic ministry. It was delightsome to have him around those days to come lead us in prayers. You know that some persons have an aura around them that attracts them to people and makes them loveable, this man had it. He was a charismatic preacher and his calling had witnesses in our hearts. He was transferred to one of the branches of his church in South West Nigeria.
When he got there, he had issues with his parent church. Out of anger and frustration, he rebelled against the leadership of the church and took over the church. Not long after, he came under serious demonic attack and he became blind. He couldn't see. This was a man that was mightily used of God. Towards the end of his life, he realized his mistakes and he amended his ways. Not long after, he slept in the Lord. He ended his life painfully, his sun set at mid day.
I have tried to find out why people with great destinies fall along the way or why some didn't live up to their full potential and fulfil God's purpose for their lives especially in ministry. What I discovered is that rebellion is one key sin that makes a man's sun to set at midday. Lucifer occupied one of the highest ranks in heaven, he was the cherub that covereth, Ezek28:14. Amongst the angels, he was an arch angel but he lost his place the moment he rebelled. Search your heart and start trusting God to help you to uproot the seed of rebellion because it destroys great men before they enter into the fullness of their greatness.
Father, i uproot every seed of rebellion in my life In Jesus name. Amen
