YOU ARE NOT USELESS- GOD CAN USE YOU

Amos7:15 But the Lord took me from tending the flock and said to me, ‘Go, prophesy to my people Israel.’

Sometimes ago, I wrote a tract titled: 'God Love Bad Boys'. I looked at the life of some bible characters and how God transformed them to becoming the envy of saints. Prophet Amos was a shepherd, that was his profession. God needed a prophet to prophesy to the nation of Israel, at that time, he found a farmer and shepherd useful. Apostle Paul was a killer. Yes, when you talk about fundamentalist attack against the Christian faith, it didn't start today.

Apostle Paul was a persecutor of the saints. He supervised the stoning of Stephen the first martyr but he met Christ on his way to Damascus, Acts 9. That was how his destiny changed forever. The man who was killing the saints later became the defender of the faith he once tried to destroy. God was not seeing the killer in Saul when he was breathing out murderous threats against the church, God saw a rugged man that can break cultural barriers to expand the frontiers of the gospel. Those who knew Rahab added 'prostitute' to her name. Men took their turns on her yet God didn't give up on her.

Religion wouldn't dare to move near people like Rahab but my merciful father found her and made her the matriarch of Jesus. What a wonderful father. I am telling you today that you're not useless, God can use you. Sometimes, we wallow in self pity and condemnation. The devil take advantage of our lack of understanding about God to keep us down perpetually. When I see prostitutes, street urchins and drug addicts, I see people that God can use. That's why I'm in the preaching business. Look beyond your present condition and state of life and submit to God. That's the starting point of your transformation.

Action point

CONFESSION: Father, I know you love and you've not hidden it from me. I accept your love and mercy today. I rebuke the spirit behind condemnation and self-pity. I command the giant in me to rise In Jesus name.
