GOD'S PURPOSE FOR THE NATIONS
People all over the world have tried to ask what God really want from human race. In a bid to profer answer to this burning question, religion was invented. Man's way of reaching out to God is religion but God has a better plan that unfolded in Christ. The opening text is so clear that God's desire is to receive WORSHIP from the nations( tribes) of the world. There is nothing else that God is looking for. We are created to worship God.
If there's anything we'll be doing in heaven largely, i think worship is topmost on the list. Because there is a yearning for worship in the hearts of people, the devil invented all other forms of worship. It would surprise you that in the last 10years, there has been a revival of traditional religion in a manner that never was. When i drive around town, i see posters and banners advertising idolatrous festival. Even radio advert is not spared. Everyone is involved in one form of worship or the other.
God is a jealous God. He doesn't want His worship shared among the gods. Another vital way to possess these nations involved in the wrong worship is to point them to God through Jesus Christ. There are tribes of the world that know nothing about the redemptive work of Christ on the cross, they haven't heard about Him at all. How can we bring these nations to their knees in worship of Jehovah? That is only possible if we reachout to them with the gospel of grace.
Father, create in my heart a burning passion to reach the nations with the gospel message In Jesus name. Amen
