William Carey, the father of modern missions was a British Baptist missionary. to India. He decided to translate the bible to 6 different Hindu languages of which he did. Tragedy struck, the whole scripts got burnt, his wife suffered a nervous breakdown and he lost one of his sons. He didn't run away from India but he stayed back to fulfil why God sent him there. He later succeeded in his translation work.
I want you to know that the calling of God upon your life and the pursuit of your purpose in life is not without its peculiar challenges. You don't quit a just course because of set-backs and discouragements, as long as God has a hand in it, press on. Paul had every reason to quit his apostolic ministry but we hardly can preach the gospel without mentioning his name.
He wrote half of the new testament and brought the revelation of grace to the church. If he had quitted when his ship wrecked or when he was beaten to a pulp, we may not have had a complete bible today. All the forces in the world may gang-up against you and hell may have let loose because of you, please don't quit. God wants to write a good history with your life like Carey&Paul.
The glory that emanates after a season of suffering is worth more than the experience itself.
