WILLING OFFERING

June 16, 2015 · Lanre Oyeleke · 2 views

1Chron29:9 Then the people rejoiced, for that they offered willingly, because with perfect heart they offered willingly to the Lord: and David the king also rejoiced with great joy.

When the Jews were building the temple, the project took years before completion and the design was a master piece. Such would require a lot of money, energy and time. God stirred the heart of the people and they gave towards the project willingly.

The aspect of the story that caught my attention was the manner in which they gave unto the Lord. It was a willing offering. God won't bless an offering that isn't given willingly. You don't give to God under compulsion but under conviction. It has to flow freely from your heart and it is only until then it can be accepted by God.

Some give to impress their pastor, some give because they feel God would do something when they give, some give because they love God and would want to see God's work progress. I prefer you give with the mindset of the latter. Anything you'll do either to God or man, let it come from a willing heart.

Action point

I receive grace to give willingly In Jesus name. Amen
