Prov21:1 Whoso loveth instruction loveth knowledge: but he that hateth reproof is brutish.
I was doing something at a time and that made one of my mentors to put a call through to me. He corrected me and right within me, I felt that why would he call me to tell me such when he doesn't know anything about what I was doing. It was until then God began to reveal me to me. I found it easy correcting others, yet it was hard for me to take correction. That was a big problem there.
One of the ways we can know a humble person is in his ability to receive correction without making the instructor his enemy. Pride is the reason why some people do not want to admit that they're wrong. Africans have some mentality, some of us believe that the man of the house shouldn't accept his fault and hence shouldn't apologise to his wife. Some see it as degrading. They'll say 'how can I admit that I'm wrong in my wife's presence'?
Also, they believe an elderly person can't be wrong. Those things accounts for why some people can't say 'I'm sorry'. You need to have a heart that is open to correction because no one is immune to mistakes. Even in ministry, when you put yourself under spiritual heads, they can discern from afar when you're wrong in certain things. In your life, if there's no one that can correct you, you may be heading for destruction.
Surround yourself with those that can give you instructive&constructive criticism, you'll grow. Avoid praise singers, you may end in ruin.
Father,I receive grace to have a heart that can be corrected without an aftermath malice In Jesus name. Amen
