1 Sam 17:37 David said moreover, “The LORD who delivered me out of the paw of the lion and out of the paw of the bear, He will deliver me out of the hand of this Philistine.” And Saul said unto David, “Go, and the LORD be with thee.” KJV
The story of David and Goliath is not new to us. Even unbelievers know there's a story of conquest that is widely referred to by many as David and Goliath. I don't want us to see the story as one of those bible stories. Though it was a physical fight between God's chosen people(Israel) and their enemies(Philistines), we can draw certain lessons from that event. Goliath was a giant whose stature was intimidating. Certain problems look intimidating and they make us cringe with fear. We were told that he challenged the armies of Israel and demanded a contest but nobody showed up for forty days. All of them went into hiding.
Israel is a battle ready nation but upon seeing Goliath, their heart melted like ice. A young shepherd boy that was annointed decided to engage Goliath in that contest. When they told him how risky it was for him to fight a giant, the next thing he did was that he shared the testimony about how God delivered him from the paw of bear and Lion in the wilderness. He knew the greatness of God in warfare and he testified about it. He knew that the same God who delivered him in the wilderness from carnivorous animals could deliver him again from the gigantic Philistine and God did. That's the power of testimony.
Start sharing testimonies of previous victories and conquest. Let the devil know that the same God who delivered you previously is still alive. When faced with battles of life, don't forget the previous victories that God wrought in your life. Testify about those things God did previously. As you do that, it would condition your mind for victory and it would steady your faith. When faced with challenges, I tell the devil what God did in similar circumstances and what He is capable of doing again. What He did before He would do again. The Bible itself contains testimonies of victories, feel free to share them. Don't tell God about the greatness of your problem but tell your problems how great your God is.
Father, I thank you because what you did before you will do again because you can never fail. Hallelujah!!!
