WEEP NOT

December 06, 2019 · Lanre Oyeleke · 2 views

Luke7: 13 And when the Lord saw her, he had compassion on her, and said unto her, Weep not.KJV

In the Jewish culture, they hire mourners who will wail and cry for someone that is mourning. I'm not sure if that tradition is still practiced today. Imagine how that kind of atmosphere would be! The cries of many would make the person who is mourning to be heart broken almost all day. When Jesus saw them carrying the dead body of that young lad with a procession of professional mourners on their way to the burial ground, he stopped them. The Bible said that Jesus had compassion on the woman who was bereaved and he said: 'weep not'.

There are circumstances and situations that makes God's people shed tears. Sometimes, you may feel forgotten and abandoned. There are seasons of life where it seems prayers are bouncing back and heaven seems closed. Have you been there before? That widow shed her tears in the public but there are days of secret tears where you wet your pillows and come out smiling in the public. Do you think God is not seeing those tearful experiences? This is what the Psalmist said: You keep track of all my sorrows. You have collected all my tears in your bottle. You have recorded each one in your book.Psalm56:8

I'm glad to tell you that your tears are on record. May be you have experienced several pains, disappointments, frustrations and bad times. Things may have gone from bad to worse, I sense in my spirit that this is your season of 'Weep Not'. My Jesus is a compassionate Jesus. Psalm 30:5 made it clear that weeping may endure for a night but joy comes in the morning. The night time symbolizes the time of pains, misery and sorrow but today is the dawn of a new day in your life. God is closing the chapters of your tears and your joy has come. Welcome to your morning of Joy.

Action point

CONFESSION: My days of weeping are over. God is replacing my tears with joy because I'm in the morning season of joy. The night is over; God is opening new chapters of favour, glory and blessing for me In Jesus name. Hallelujah!!!
