TO REVEAL TRUE FRIENDS

Relationships are vital in life. I doubt if any man can go far in life without the right relationships. In the part of the world where I reside, knowing people that matter is a precursor to progress in certain quarters. There is a Yoruba adage that says: 'It is friends that lift and it is friends that betray'. They are only trying to tell us how important relationships are. A good example of covenant friendship existed between David and Jonathan. In fact, Jonathan stood with David in his time of trial. He saw his many troubles but loved him because of his destiny.

In your wilderness season, that is when you can know who your true friends are. When things are rosy and going fine, you will attract alot of people who are after what they can get from you not what they can give. Some people are surrounded by parasitic friends. The true colour of those people you call friends would show while you're in the furnace of challenges. God uses the wilderness season to help sieve out the relationships you don't need.

When you get to your Canaan, you will need covenant relationships or friends. Friends whose heart are knitted with yours for the purpose of fulfilling destiny. Friends who would love you just as you are and help you in working on your flaws not those that would magnify your weakness and ignore your strength. Friends that won't allow you to rest on your oars until you emerge as the best. You don't need friends that would attribute your ordeal to some perceived sin and condemn you because of your past. You can only know your true friends in the wilderness season of your life.

Action point

Father, open my eyes to see who my true friends are in Jesus name.
