Exodus 2:18-20 When the girls returned to Reuel their father, he asked them, “Why have you returned so early today?” They answered, “An Egyptian rescued us from the shepherds. He even drew water for us and watered the flock.” “And where is he?” Reuel asked his daughters. “Why did you leave him? Invite him to have something to eat.”
The daughters of Reuel the priest of Midian went to draw water and fill the troughs to water their father’s flock on a certain day. Some shepherds came along and drove them away, but Moses got up and came to their rescue and watered their flock. Moses was their helper that day. When those ladies returned home on time, their father asked, "why have you returned so early today? ". They told him an Egyptian came to their rescue. Their father requested that they invite him so that he can be given a nice treat. There's something that is obvious in that story. Those ladies left Moses at the well. They forgot the man who helped them in times of need. They used him and dumped him.
Thank God for Reuel who requested that they should bring him. He knew that Moses was not a man that should be forgotten and left to suffer. I have met people who have helped someone to attain greatness yet they are suffering. Not only that, they have also been forgotten where they are. When you meet such people, they are full of regret. As humans, it is painful to see those you have helped at one time or the other doing fine while languishing in pain of a need that they can meet. Some Pastors can relate with this very well. They'll sacrifice for a member from nothingness to something but when the glory comes, such a member may switch to another church claiming they are not good enough. I know how painful it is especially for Pastors.
This is your season of remembrance. God is positioning your Reuel to call for you. That people are paying back evil for the good you've done or maybe they are not even paying anything back doesn't mean you should stop doing good. Keep helping people to rise. God in his sovereignty may use another person entirely to help you. God doesn't forget because your good deeds are in his record book. I pray for you, may God remember you for good this season In Jesus name. May your Reuel call for you. May those that have forgotten you remember you for favour In Jesus name.
