SACRIFICE: KEY TO UNCOMMON INCREASE

December 16, 2019 · Lanre Oyeleke · 2 views

Psalms126:5-6 They that sow in tears shall reap in joy.He that goeth forth and weepeth, bearing precious seed, shall doubtless come again with rejoicing, bringing his sheaves with him. KJV

There's a law set in nature by God after the flood. God told Noah that seed time and harvest time shall not cease as long as the earth remains(Gen8:22). That law is trans dispensational. However, we have come to discover from agricultural science that the quality and quantity of seed determines the quality and quantity of harvest. In terms of quality. If your seeds are not viable for planting, it won't yield any harvest. In terms of quantity, the number of seeds you sow would determine the quantity of your harvest. Farmers can relate with these facts easily.

From the spiritual angle, your giving is a form of seed sowing. There are seeds you sow in joy but there others that comes with pain especially when God demand something precious from you. I read about a man that decided to change his order of tithing. He gave God 90% instead of 10%. This man started started his business with $500, in five years, his business was worth $5,000,000. Do not tell me that it was easy for him to give 90%. That' was a huge sacrifice on his part. I still don't understand how he lived on 10%. That's what It means to sow in tears. Verse 6 of the opening text talked about precious seed. That implies that some seed are precious while some are not. The kind of seed that produces uncommon harvest are those seeds sown in tears.

Another man decided to give God half of his salary for 7 months. He experienced a divine turn around and international doors began to open for him. The key to increase is giving. Not just regular giving but sacrificial giving. David said he won't give to God what will not cost him anything(2Sam24:24). If your giving doesn't have elements of sacrifice, it may not produce bountifully. Your giving is a form of seed sowing. Stop giving God left overs. Every opportunity to give is an opportunity for increase. God deserves quality. You must be deliberate about it, don't be coerced.

Action point

Father, I receive the grace to be a sacrificial giver In Jesus name. Amen
