Genesis 8:22 “As long as the earth endures, seedtime and harvest, cold and heat, summer and winter, day and night will never cease.” NIV
Most times, when believers hear about seed sowing, what comes to their mind is money. Some preachers have also limited the idea or concept of seed sowing to giving money or material possessions. That's not all there is to seed sowing. If taken literally, sowing and reaping is strictly referring to crop farming. However, in scriptural application, it is more than a physical phenomenon. In Galatians6:7, Apostle Paul says: Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap. The word 'whatsoever' is what we should look into properly. Under that umbrella word of 'whatsoever', it simply means that our actions could be a form of seed.
Reading further, in Gal6:8, Paul said: Whoever sows to please their flesh, from the flesh will reap destruction; whoever sows to please the Spirit, from the Spirit will reap eternal life. The principle of sowing and reaping. Here, you will see that seed sowing has nothing to do with money or farming. The Bible concept of seed sowing and harvest is simply pointing to actions that produces result. It is an all encompassing concept. For example, if you sow to your flesh by giving it whatever it wants and you feed yourself with carnal stuffs, the harvest would be destruction. If you sow into your spirit by developing it spiritually, you will reap eternal life.
What kinds of seed are you sowing into your life? What about the seed you are sowing into the life of others? God has set in motion a transgenerational principle that is relevant. Whatever you sow is what you will reap. If you sow love and understanding into your marriage, you will get a harvest of peaceful home in return. If you sow care and concern into the life of people, you will get it back. If you sow quality training into your children, you will harvest sane and well-behaved children. Just think about any action, it is a form of seed that will surely produce a harvest.
Father, I receive the grace to sow the right seeds In Jesus name.
