Isaiah49:14 But Zion said, "The LORD has forsaken me, the Lord has forgotten me
So many have been trying to know the meaning of Zion. The name Zion was used initially in Scripture for the small citadel inside Jerusalem where David placed his throne. Over time, however, the Holy Spirit began to broaden the concept of Zion in Scripture until it sometimes referred to all of Jerusalem (e.g., Psalm 76:2), or even the entire nation of Israel (e.g., Isaiah 3:16). When Zion is mentioned in the Bible, therefore, the precise meaning of the term can vary a bit depending on the context. In context of the opening text, it is the nation of Israel( the Jews) that is referred to as the Zion that said he was forsaken by God.
In the new testament, you're God's Zion because you share in the common wealth of the nation of Israel through the precious blood of Jesus Christ(Eph2:12-20). However, Zion has prayed and fasted on the same issue over the years and it seems there's no answer. Zion has heard people share testimonies on the kind of miracle he is expecting yet, his is still hanging. Zion has gone through thick and thin, Zion has remained faithful to God, zealous and passionate about God but it seems everything is on standstill. Zion has been married for years without fruit of the womb, Zion has graduated for decades but no job. Then, Zion concluded that he has been forsaken by God.
God responded swiftly by saying: Can a woman forget her sucking child, that she should not have compassion on the son of her womb? yea, they may forget, yet will I not forget thee (Isaiah 49:15). You are the Zion implied in this narrative. I'm glad to tell you that God has not forsaken you. No matter how bad, rough or tough life has been, God is using those circumstances to prune, shape and make you into a master piece that would be the envy of all. Just as a nursing mother would nurture and care for her baby, God is doing much more for you though you may not see it. God is never late, He's always on time. The moment you agree with the devil that God has forsaken you, he would suggest demonic alternatives to you.
CONFESSION: I am the Zion of God that cannot be forsaken by God. Father, I thank you because I know all things are working together for my good though I may not see the result now but I shall live to walk in the fullness of that which you have for me In Jesus name. Hallelujah!
