*A KINGDOM OF THE SHAMELESS* Pt.2

Luke11:8 *But I tell you this—though he won’t do it for friendship’s sake, if you keep knocking long enough, he will get up and give you whatever you need because of your shameless persistence* (NLT)

SHAMELESS PERSISTENCE IN PRAYER

My daughter is a good example of shameless persistence in matters of request. Months before her birthday, she's fond of reminding me about the type of cake she wants. She can start giving you reminder seven months prior.

Sometimes, she'll come beside me to pray aloud about her birthday asking God to provide for birthday. The content of her prayer itself is a reminder given to me about her birthday.

Children are good at doing that especially when what they want will meet their ego and emotional need. Do you know how children boast about what their dad or mom buys for them?

They don't care how daddy and mummy will get the money, all they care about is the answer to their request. They can do this for months until they weary their parents.

Jesus told the story of a man that needed something from his friend. His friend was reluctant to give him what he wanted but because he was shamelessly persistent, his friend gave it to him.

Jesus taught about persistence in our prayers to God. Some get tired of praying because answers are delayed. I have seen those who took a reluctant posture about prayer.

Probably because they've prayed for years but there seems to be no result. Dearest, If you're in that category, persist in prayers shamelessly.

I love the way the early church prayed. Their prayer culture was "continuous".

Acts 1:14 says, "These all with one mind were CONTINUALLY devoting themselves to prayer, along with the women, and Mary the mother of Jesus, and with His brothers".

Acts 2:42 says, "They were CONTINUALLY devoting themselves to the apostles’ teaching and to fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer".

There are issues that require shameless persistence in the place of prayer. You don't relent in prayers after a month because you didn't get what you wanted.

If Daniel had done that, he wouldn't get the answers to his prayers of twenty one days. Your persistence in prayers must be shameless and coupled with faith.

You don't stop until you get what you want, that's how to fight your way through in life.

Colossians 4:2 says, "Be persistent in prayer, and keep alert as you pray, giving thanks to God" ( GNT).

Action Point:

Father, I receive grace to be shamelessly persistent in the place of prayer till I get result In Jesus name.
