1Thes5:12 Dear brothers and sisters, honor those who are your leaders in the Lord’s work. They work hard among you and give you spiritual guidance.(13) Show them great respect and wholehearted love because of their work. And live peacefully with each other.

Sometimes, the excesses of some leaders as regards honour and respect for their office beclouds people from understanding scriptures like the opening text. You must know that it is scriptural to respect and honour the leaders that labour to feed us with God's word. Giving spiritual guidance is not an easy task because it demands total commitment and concentration.
When you honour your spiritual leaders and show them biblical respect, you are fulfilling the scriptures and encouraging them as well. Your prayers, giving and unflinching commitment to their ministry are ways by which we can honour them. A minister of God shouldn't lack so that he can focus on his calling. Pastoring is not an easy task neither is it easy to be a minister on the field involved in evangelistic work.
It is imperative that we do what God demands from us. Support your pastor, let him look good and presentable. He has needs that money can meet; if he goes to the market declaring his pastoral status, they won't sell for him. He also has needs that only your prayers can meet. Don't stop praying for him.
Prayerfully decide on something you can do to support your pastor or that minister on the field.
