Bishop Oyedepo said that 'God gave us a brain to think so that we won't stink'. There is a type of laziness called mental laziness common amongst religious people. It is the reason why some have pushed all their cerebral responsibilities to God thinking God would do for them what he has given them the ability to do. God doesn't turn his children to robots. Common sense is needed to solve common problems while uncommon sense is needed to solve uncommon problems-both are from God.
The mind of a man is a powerful tool from God for solving problems. Africa is backward because in certain things, we have failed to apply common sense to solve our common problem. The brain of a white man is not better than the black, the difference lies in how it is used. In the scripture above, King Solomon is advising that you shouldn't lose sight of common sense because it is useful. That's God's word not mine.
There are Christians that won't study for exams yet you'll see them in exam prayers. If unbelievers apply common sense to common problems, they'll get result even in marriage&parenting. I have seen believers fail in marriage and I have seen unbelievers succeed in marriage, not everything is a demon problem. This is hard for religious people to accept but it is the gospel truth.
Before you pray on issues next time, check to see that you're not defaulting in the use of common sense.
