1John1:5 This is the message we heard from Jesus and now declare to you: God is light, and there is no darkness in him at all. NLT
When we talk about light and darkness, those words represent so many things. For a very long time, our colonial masters in Africa called Africa 'dark continent'. They weren't referring to the colour of our skin but they were referring to the level of ignorance and wickedness that existed in our society then. The word darkness connotes ignorance, evil and all forms of negativity. Even in scriptures, darkness was used to symbolise wickedness. Psalms74:20.
When Jesus came, darkness covered the face of the earth but he came as an illumination, the scripture said 'in him was life and that life was the light of men, the light shines in darkness and darkness comprehend it not' (John1:3-4). Light is symbolic of wisdom, freedom, liberty and hope. That is why the English people would say 'there is light at the end of the tunnel', referring to hope. Christ came to dispel the works of darkness in our lives. Glory!!!
Anything that doesn't represent light is from the devil. Christ is in you and he has made you a light. You have the kingdom right to send the host of darkness and their works packing, give darkness a quit notice. Sin, sickness, barreness, frustration, depression e.t.c, are manifestations of darkness. Don't allow darkness one more day, Christ is full of light and your life should as well.
CONFESSION: I am full of light, God's word is at work in me because his word illuminates my path. I dispel the works of darkness in my life, I give darkness and her works quit notice In Jesus name.
