Paul wrote the book of Second Timothy towards the end of his ministry while in Roman prison. It was the last imprisonment of Paul under a wicked emperor named Nero. He persecuted believers, he beheaded Paul around may or June of A.D.68 as opined by church historians. Paul saw death coming and he made a profound statement.
He declared that he had fought the good fight of faith, he has finished the race and kept the faith. In previous imprisonments before the last, he knew that his time was not up yet because hadn't finished his purpose on earth. Immediately he sensed in his Spirit that his mission was accomplished, he made that profound statement. He went ahead to declare the kind of crown that awaited him.
Every man that is in sync with God in the fulfilment of God's assignment here on earth should be able to speak like Paul. Paul lived for something- an apostle to the Gentiles, Peter lived for something- an apostle to the Jews,Jesus lived for something- a saviour of the whole world, what are you living for? What is your purpose here on earth? The day you discover your purpose is the day you start living. The clock is ticking, your time will soon be up, fulfil why you came.
I shall fulfil my purpose and may my end be great In Jesus name. Amen
