USE YOUR GIFT FOR SERVICE

June 26, 2016 · Lanre Oyeleke · 2 views

1Pet4:10 God has given each of you a gift from his great variety of spiritual gifts. Use them well to serve one another. NLT

In 1Corinthians chapter 12, nine gifts of the spirit was listed by apostle Paul and he told us that it is the Spirit that gives those gifts as he wills so that we can use them for kingdom profit. Aside the nine gifts mentioned in 1Corinthians 12, there are other gifts given by the Spirit that are useful in the kingdom.

When you discover the gift God has given you, you are meant to use it to serve God and his people. He doesn't give us gift for commercial purpose as some are doing today; I received an invitation to preach years back, my invitee asked what my fee was, I told him that I don't charge to preach. If you give me honorarium, I'll accept it but I won't demand for it. The gift of God upon my life is for selfless service not for business.

I want you to decide on what to do with your gift, for kingdom service or self service? God doesn't waste his resources, if you don't use what he has given you, you may become irrelevant in the scheme of things. Let kingdom service be your priority.

Action point

Father, I receive grace to serve you with my gift(s) in Jesus name. Amen
