Several years ago as a young student and growing Christian( I am still growing though), I attended a fellowship in on of the federal universities back then. I love the senior pastor of that ministry and I still do because he was instrumental to my growth in the faith so I joined the student arm of his church.
While I was there, I did not feel comfortable with just one thing: how the ladies dressed. It fueled lust in me heavily. The ladies I saw on the altar ministering exposed too many sensitive parts without considering brothers. In fact, I know a brother who attended that fellowship, he told me he looked at the butt of a lady throughout one of the services. That was the end of it for me. I left that fellowship.
In the opening text, Jesus said temptation is bound to come in this world but the one who does the tempting is cursed with sorrows. God does not like when people submit themselves to be used as an agent of temptation either willingly or otherwise.
Let's take the issue of dressing as an example. While so many ladies want to look trendy, sexy and fashionable, unknown to some of them, they have submitted themselves to Satan to be used as an agent of temptation.
Why wear something revealing in the name of fashion? Why should your clothe be so tight to the point where your pant lines are so visible? Why has private parts become something of public exposure? When did
Some think this thing is for ladies only, some brothers are culpable. Some wear boxers in the public that will reveal the shape of their penis. It is becoming a worrisome trend that makes ladies lust. They see it but cannot talk about it but their hearts are polluted.
The moment we submit ourselves to the fashion of this world, we'll be used as an agent of temptation. As God's children, the more we submit to God, we will not be available for Satan's use.
