At this point, I believe you have an understanding of the gospel and what it is all about. Also, I believe you can articulate the message of the gospel starting from the problem of man to the consequence and then to the remedy.

If you have done all these, the bone of contention is, how can we get sinners saved? What are the steps involved? Just as we understand the gospel from the bible, the processes leading to salvation is clearly spelt out in scriptures.

The bible says, "So faith comes from hearing, that is, hearing the Good News about Christ"( Romans 10:17 NLT). Getting sinners saved starts with making them hear the gospel. Someone must preach so that sinners can put their faith in Jesus.

Paul says, "Since God in his wisdom saw to it that the world would never know him through human wisdom, he has used our foolish preaching to save those who believe"( 1 Cor 1:21 NLT).

The foolishness of preaching is the means/ method through which God has chosen to save sinners. Preach repentance. Let them know they are to forsake their sinful ways and put their faith in Jesus who will cloth them with righteousness.

Once the sinner believes the gospel, lead him/her to confess Jesus Christ as Lord and personal saviour. This is the reason we call out sinners to the altar to say the sinners prayer. It is biblical because confession is an affirmation of the sinner's belief about the saving power of Jesus Christ.

Romans 10:9 says, "If you OPENLY DECLARE THAT JESUS IS LORD and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. [10] For it is by believing in your heart that you are made right with God, and IT IS BY OPENLY DECLARING YOUR FAITH THAT YOU ARE SAVED".

The process is simple. Preach to get them believe the gospel of Jesus. Make them declare their new belief in Jesus with their mouth. That is all. The next phase is discipleship. It is through proper discipleship the sinner will learn how to live the Christian life.
