I have seen people who get delivered from demonic oppression and later had a relapse. Some got their healing and it was visible to all that they got it but after a while, their condition worsen. This is a common experience in church circle that has made many to doubt miracles.
They ask, why do people experience freedom from demonic oppression, sickness and other Satanic problems and later experience a relapse worse than the initial condition? When we fail to read our bibles, we won't have answers to questions such as this and we might just hang it on "Only God knows" but If we read our bibles, we can.know too.
In the opening text, Jesus made it clear that when an evil spirit leaves a person, it goes into arid places seeking rest but finds none. The same evil spirit will go back to check where it left to see If there is still room to come back. If the person's house is empty, that demon will go back to look for seven more wicked demon to inhabit that house. The latter condition of the person will be worse than the previous.
The empty house represents the person who has received deliverance but refused to fill his heart with the knowledge of God's word about his right and privileges in Christ over demons. This person received deliverance by the minister's anointing but has refused to build his faith to maintain victory. Some received their healing by faith but failed to keep building that faith thereafter. When all these happens, the person becomes prone to another demonic attack.
One thing you need to understand about the nature of demons is that they are stubbornly persistent. That is why after they are cast out of a life, they will attempt to return. If the person delivered refuses to do the needful, the second attack will be worse than the former.
The writer of James understand this stubborn nature of demons that is why he said, "So humble yourselves before God. RESIST the devil, and he will flee from you"( James 4:7 NLT). I put that word "resist" in caps because in the Greek, it is in the present continuous tense. That is, you have to keep resisting Satan and his minions because they are stubborn. When they leave a place, they don't go far away.
Even when Satan tempted Jesus, the bible says, "And when the devil had ended all the temptation, he departed from him FOR A SEASON"( Lk 4:13). Meaning that he came again. That tells us how persistent he is. If he did that about Jesus, why do you think he won't check you out again after you receive
Esnure your house is not empty because Satan will check you out again. That demon you cast out will come around to check If you now have the word in you. If he launches another attack and you have nothing to counter it, more wicked demons will come in.
After you receive your healing and deliverance, do all within your power to ensure your house is not empty.
