PRAYER LABOUR(D)
Praying for your children cannot be over emphasized. One area of their lives you should not cease to pray for is their marital life. I know that this may sound odd to some of us especially those whose children are small. Of what benefit is a sound training if at the end of the day, they marry the wrong man or woman? Making the wrong choice of a life partner can rubbish good upbringing and stellar achievements. I have discovered that the devil has short-term and long term plans for children.
Right from when a child is born, he starts launching attacks. In this part of the world, public health findings shows that not too many children survive beyond the age of five. As far as i'm concerned, the devil is behind it. Assuming a child grows into teenagehood, the devil would try to make him wayward so as to derail him in destiny. If he fails, the devil would wait till when he wants to make crucial choices in career or marriage. The devil knows that if he can get a man or woman choose wrongly, all the labour of past years can be destroyed.
As parents, don't say: 'my children are small'. Please start praying for their marriage now. That's not anxiety, that's Godly wisdom. Start telling God in prayers that they won't choose wrongly. You can send prayers ahead of their marital journey in life. You can go deep in prayers for your children up to a point where your prayer would impact your grand and great grand children. When you're gone, the impact of your intense prayer can still be felt by those who are alive in your generation. Now is time to pray.
