Isaiah8:20 Woe unto them that call evil good, and good evil; that put darkness for light, and light for darkness; that put bitter for sweet, and sweet for bitter!
I heard the story of a Pastor who had a certain wealthy man in his church. This man was supportive financially and in other areas. Eventually, this man married a second wife. The pastor was expected to discipline him and help put his family in order but because of benefits, he compromised. That came as a surprise to the first wife who was a faithful member in that church. Her expectation was that the Pastor would stand behind her as the real wife but things took a bad turn.
As believers in Christ especially ministers of the gospel, one of challenges that would confront us is the challenge of speaking the truth at all times even in the face of compromise or when not convenient. How would you handle the case of your biggest donor in church who is a serial adulterer? We have seen activists who stood against bad government policies and corrupt politicians but immediately they were deceived into political offices through appointments, they began to call bad good and vice versa.
There is a woe on those that change or corrupt the truth for a lie. One of the things i see that would lead many into eternal destruction is lies that has been presented as truth. I once read an article where the writer said that if a homosexual is born again and he keeps practicing homosexual, he'll go to heaven because once saved is always saved. That's a fat lie from hell. Dearest, speak the truth and stand for the truth always. It pays.
Father, i receive the grace not to compromise the truth In Jesus name
