Col3:21- Fathers, provoke not your children to anger lest they be discouraged.
ADEQUATE LOVE& CARE
Back in the days of our great grand parents, the love and care shown to Children of different sexes is not thesame. Males were given a higher preference than females. I know a family where their males were given good education but the females were neglected. In that family, most of their male children studied abroad and occupied great positions in their respective careers. Some fathers have told their daughters they would end in the kitchen, so he wouldn't waste money on them. Have you heard that before?
I know a sister whose husband is treating badly because all her children are females. It is obvious that the man is grossly ignorant about chromosomal combinations because he is responsible for the gender of his children not his wife. Painfully, it is happening in a christian home. It ought not to be. Biblical parenting entails treating children with dignity, showing equal love and concern regardless of gender. God doesn't love &care for us on gender basis. Selective love has made some children to resent their parents.
If our father in heaven is not selective in his love towards us, why should we be selective in our love towards the children he gave to us? Children can't be thesame because of individual differences. Academically, spiritually, emotionally, socially, etc, you cannot have all your children on thesame level. Despite the obvious differences, your duty is to love and care for them without preference. Treat each of your children like royalty( even if there's an obvious physical/mental challenge/disability), that's how to bring out the best from them. No child is useless, it is a function of how you raise and nurture them.
