Proverbs 13:22 A good man leaves an inheritance to his children’s children, But the wealth of the sinner is stored up for the righteous. NKJV
PLATFORM FOR A BETTER FUTURE(B)
Two friends saw an eatery advert that says:Come and eat, it is free. They ordered for all kinds of menu. After eating, they were told to pay, they were surprised so they asked the waiter why they should pay since it is a free eatery. The waiter told them that truly, the food they ate was free because their fathers paid for it. They are expected to pay for the next generation coming behind. That's a lesson for parents there. The next generation must be given a good take-off platform in life so that they won't suffer what we suffered. Their starting point in life must be from where we stopped.
The opening text of this devotional is something every parent must ponder on deeply. It is biblical for parents to leave good inheritance for their children and grand children. Abraham gave Isaac great wealth and he started from there. He grew to be greater than his father in everything because he didn't need to start from the scratch. His father gave him a platform for a better future. Even Ishmael had thesame. God's plan is trangenerational. Over the years, transgenerational companies like Coca Cola, Honda, Wal-mart, Mercedes Benz, Guiness and a host of others have remained a good example in this regard.
What differentiate these businesses from others is vision. The founders had a vision for continuity that would outlast them. That's scriptural. Yours may not be business like the examples given but what we are saying is that it is your responsibility to ensure your children have a good start by building on the platform you've created so that they won't start from the scratch again. They should go from glory to glory and should be greater. That's God's will for his children. It is time to start thinking of building legacies that would outlast us.
Father, help me In Jesus name.
