Ephesians 6:18 In the same way, prayer is essential in this ongoing warfare. Pray hard and long. Pray for your brothers and sisters. Keep your eyes open. Keep each other's spirits up so that no one falls behind or drops out. MSG

PRAYER&SPIRITUAL WARFARE

Many years ago, more than two decades, we were in a vigil praying intensely. A word of knowledge was given about some issues concerning demonic operations. There was a big evil tree not far from our church, they call the place 'idi ogun' meaning the centre of 'Ogun' worship. 'Ogun' is a demonic deity in South West Nigeria. That midnight, God's axe of judgement cut the tree down and that was the end. You cannot divorce prayer and spiritual warfare, they are inseparable. The opening scripture says there is an ongoing warfare. It is up to you to do something about it.

We live in days of intense demonic activities. The bloodshed and destruction you see around and hear in the news are proofs. David was not wrong when he said the dark places of the earth is filled with the habitation of cruelty, Psalm74:20. They are around us but we don't know. Down my street in my village, they were clearing a bush around our church site. There was a tree that was cut down, in the process of cutting that tree, a sound was heard. It sounded like someone walking out angrily. My younger sister cannot forget that scenario. Who would believe that such a demon infested tree was around us?

Blessed be God that we are victorious in Christ. However, Word-based prayer is the way to enforce our victory. This is not just limited to making positive confession but going in-depth in prayers that touches the soul. Laziness in prayer can lead to casualty in warfare. The devil doesn't respect titles, degree and your looks. He is ready to steal, kill and destroy. Men that are flaming hot in the place of prayer are feared in hell. Do not give the foothold.

Action point

Father, i will not be a casualty in warfare. Holy Spirit, energize my prayer life In Jesus name.
