PAUL'S ADMONITION TO US

April 17, 2019 · Lanre Oyeleke · 2 views

1Thess4:1 Finally, dear brothers and sisters, we urge you in the name of the Lord Jesus to live in a way that pleases God, as we have taught you. You live this way already, and we encourage you to do so even more.NLT

I was talking to a man sometimes ago, he told me about the sharp practices going on in his office. He told me that they inform the Christians among them to comply and keep their mouth shut because corruption was the norm. There are many Christians in offices where sharp practices are going on but have compromised secretly while some have made it open for all to see. I have a first hand experience with a self acclaimed Pastor in that regard. He quoted scriptures and spoke against corruption loudly but later demanded bribe to get the job done.

One of the major challenges of the end time is the inability of believers to walk and live in a way that pleases God. Displeasing God is becoming easier than pleasing God. The world is presenting her ways to us and cunningly making it look like the norm. The world has sold so many lies to us and is still selling those lies for free even to believers so that our lives can be displeasing to God. The moment you begin to assent to those lies mentally, your mind begins to shift from the path of righteousness.

Apostle Paul admonished the church in Thessalonica to live in a way that pleases God. The epistles were written to the church directly and we are inclusive. To please God in all we do and say should be our topmost priority in our pilgrim journey here on earth. On daily basis, learn to pray for grace to please your maker.

Action point

Father, i receive the grace to live in a way that please you on daily basis In Jesus name.
