I spent a part of my growing years in the village. Our house didn't not have electricity as of the time we relocated there. We were surrounded by thick bushes and tall trees. The location of our house was at the outskirt of the village. At night, everywhere was so dark and the effect of that darkness was terrifying because of the sounds of animals, snakes and insects. The day of electrification came, our house was connected to the power source and everywhere was illuminated. Darkness gave way for light and people rejoiced with us.
The world is in gross darkness. There is so much darkness in almost all sectors. The greatest of all the darkness is the spiritual darkness that pervades the lives of men. There are men&women living in well lighted cities but their hearts are full of darkness because they haven't met Christ. Every man that doesn't have Christ is living in darkness. Salvation is the cure. John's gospel told us that in Christ was life and his life was the light of men, John1:4. The works of darkness can prevail easily over those in darkness because they're identified with darkness.
As a carrier of light, you must light up your world through your character, by preaching the gospel, casting out demons, healing the sick and living like Christ. There's no other way. Those in darkness are waiting for us so that we can show them the light and put their feet on the path of light. Do not hide your light, the brightness of your light is not meant to be hidden. The creation is waiting for men that will dispel the darkness even in the secular world. One carrier of light in politics can change the course of history in our nation. Shine your light.
