Years back,when I was about handing over as the president of a fellowship, a brother told me that the next president would be 'Kola' by name as revealed to him by God. Within me, I knew he was lying and being manipulative but I was calm. My secretary checked all the fellowship record, there was no single person bearing that name in the fellowship. I knew that brother missed it and I confronted him on that issue.
It is common these days to see Christians having personal prophets they consult when they need clarity on matters. Some of those prophets have made their clients their cash cows, they 'prophelie' and collect money for telling lies. On almost all posters you see, the ministers are always 'Prophet something' even with an alias. True prophets don't announce themselves, their gift speaks louder than the title.
I am not against the ministry of prophets but when prophecy do not align with God's word and prophets want to become demi-gods lording it over people and wanting to take the place of the HolySpirit. Do not seek prophets for 'thus saith the Lord', seek God in prayers and his word. Test all 'thus saith the Lord' with God's word. If a prophet is telling you to bring divination items or to marry another wife while the first is alive, he is fake. Beware!!!
