Hebrews10:37 “For in just a little while,
the Coming One will come and not delay.
NLT
The early Christians waited eagerly for the coming of the Lord and they were living ready to see that they were rapturable. Smith Wigglesworth lived in anticipation of Christ's coming because he thought that Christ would come in his day. Whether he came in his day or not, the onus lies on those of here now to be ready.
There is a statement that we make often saying 'If Christ tarries'. From the scripture above, Christ won't tarry any longer because the scripture said he won't delay. We need to live circumspectly in anticipation for his return. Our hope in his return must be renewed daily.
We shouldn't be like some that would say 'He has taken too long to come, if he would come, why hasn't he come since the days of the early church'? Your concern and mine isn't how long he has tarried before coming but how ready we are at his coming.
Father, I receive grace to be ready for Christ's coming In Jesus name. Amen
