Proverbs16:2 All the ways of a man are clean in his own eyes; but the LORD weigheth the spirits.
There was a time I had an invitation to preach but I didn't have money with me. I was excited that I would be given an honorarium so my inner motivation for accepting the invite was because of money. I took ill before the day of my ministration and my health didn't improve, when I discovered that wrong motive was the reason I lingered on the sick bed, I realigned my motive with God's will and asked God for forgiveness, that was how my healing came.
Those around me may be hailing me as an itinerant preacher but God weighed my spirit and found the 'love of money' in it. When I repented of my impure motive, I went for the ministration and it was very powerful because God used me as vessel that was available for him not a vessel that was self-seeking.
As a believer, you must always give room for God to weigh your heart so that you'll know your true score card. Our motives carries much importance to God than anything else. It is possible for your motive to be wrong with a corresponding right action. Only God is the judge. Always check your 'within' and be sure God's stamp is on it.
Father, weigh my heart and purify me of impure motives In Jesus name.
