Gen26:1 There was a famine in the land, as bad as the famine during the time of Abraham. And Isaac went down to Abimelech, king of the Philistines, in Gerar. NLT
One day my wife told me about how expensive things were in the market and she laid much emphasis on it to a point that if one isn't careful, i may start living in earthly economic realities instead of kingdom economic reality. Economic melt down is not new, it happened in the time of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob yet they overcame.
When we pray sometimes, we say 'God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob', that God made a way for these trio when the economy crashed and that God is still alive today. We need to know what theses bible characters did that made them survive. In Genesis 26, because of famine, everyone was looking outside their domain or country for greener pastures. Isaac wanted to do same but God told him to stay.
The first thing that helped Isaac was that he listened to God's direction on where to stay and what to do. Isaac became wealthy during scarcity even to the envy of the inhabitants of that land. It is common to those in the third world countries to seek greener pasture in western nations for economic benefits but I tell you that the pasture is not always green on the other side. There are beggars in New York and multi billionaires in your country.
Listen to God's direction per time and you'll live above harsh economic realities.
CONFESSION: My greatness isn't determined by harsh economic realities but by God. In the present state of the economy, I won't beg neither will suffer. I live in kingdom abundance, I'm blessed beyond measure In Jesus name.
