A revered minister of the gospel told the story of a couple who came to him for prayers. The wife was sick and she needed divine healing. Her husband was a loyal member of the ministry. The Pastor embarked on three days fasting and prayer. After the fasting and prayer, he was prompted to ask the woman if she wanted to be healed. To his chagrin, the woman said 'she doesn't want to be healed'. He asked her to know the reason for her rejection. She said she loved the attention she was getting from her husband. She further said that her husband was never at home for her and the kids so she wanted to remain that way so that the man would be around her.
God knows our hearts. What some people are asking for is not what they really want. When you want to agree with someone in prayer, be sure to know what the exact request is. God knows the burdens we carry yet he said: “Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you."(Matthew 7:7) Why would an all-knowing God tell us to ask? The answer is simple. God is not legally bound to grant your heart desires except we ask. God doesn't violate our will because we are free moral agents.
Blind Bartimeus would not have gained his sight by mere shouting and noise making. If he had blabbed and repeated words vainly, he may die without seeing. It was until he came out clear on what he wanted that he received his sight. What is that specific thing you desire from God? I want you to review your prayer requests and be specific in prayers. That's how to get result.
