1Thess4:16-17 For the Lord himself will come down from heaven with a commanding shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trumpet call of God. First, the believers who have died will rise from their graves. Then, together with them, we who are still alive and remain on the earth will be caught up in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. Then we will be with the Lord forever. NLT
Sometime ago, I booked a flight ticket from Abuja to Lagos. I got to the airport late and the lady at the airline counter told me other passengers had boarded. Another masculine voice also told me the plane was about to take-off. I ran like an Olympic athlete just to ensure I do not miss my flight. I missed my way inside the airport and had to retrace the path that leads to the exit. When I finally settled in the plane, it occurred to me that anyone without Christ would eventually miss the flight to heaven. Everyone that believes in the existence of a supreme God believe there is a place called heaven but many are on the wrong path. There is only one way that leads to heaven and that is JESUS CHRIST.
In John14:6, Jesus said: "Jesus told him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one can come to the Father except through me.". No religious leader has ever claimed to be the way, none of them even claimed to have known God personally like Christ did. Salvation can be gotten through no other except by believing in the finished work of Christ on the cross of calvary: "There is salvation in no one else! God has given no other name under heaven by which we must be saved.” (Acts4:12). Good works are good but they are not enough to earn you salvation: "God saved you by his grace when you believed. And you can’t take credit for this; it is a gift from God. Salvation is not a reward for the good things we have done, so none of us can boast about it." (Ephesians 2:8-9).
Jesus promised us that He would return to take us to the mansion He has built for us,(John14:2-3). The day of our flight to that mansion is coming soon and it is only for those that are saved and washed by the blood of Jesus Christ. It will be painful if you miss your flight to that heavenly home. Once you miss it, there are no other flight options. Jesus is our Chief pilot and on a day fixed by God the father, He would return at the blast of the trumpet of the archangel to rapture the saints,(1Th4:16). Please, do not miss this most important flight. If you don’t want to miss your eternal flight, accept Christ by making Him the Lord of your life today. Say the prayer below:
Dear Father, I know you love me and that's the reason for sending Christ to die for my sins. I forsake my sins and I choose to accept Christ as my Lord and personal saviour.
