Colossians4:17 Tell Archippus: "See to it that you complete the ministry you have received in the Lord."
Sometimes ago, someone with a good heart wished that I will "blow" in ministry. To "blow" as we say it in Nigeria mean to become popular, rich and successful. It is common to hear people on the street, and those in music industry say such. Initially, I accepted it as a prayer but later, the Spirit of God in me pointed me to the truth of scriptures. I saw the reality of what it means to be in ministry and what God expect of me. I discovered that God's ultimate desire for me as a minister of the gospel is to be faithful to my calling not to "blow". In the parable of the talent, the master rewarded faithfulness and upgraded the servant to another level: "His lord said unto him, Well done, thou good and faithful servant: thou hast been faithful over a few things, I will make thee ruler over many things: enter thou into the joy of thy lord. (Matthew 25:21).
Popularity didn't matter to the master, what he wanted to see in his servants was faithfulness. To be faithful is to be trustworthy. God is looking for men he can trust with deep revelation, anointing, people's destinies, money and His assignment. These areas are crucial in the life of anyone called into the ministry. God committed destinies into the hands of some but they damaged those lives. Some were damaged by priests. There are popular and wealthy men in the ministry that has failed the test of faithfulness. The world may applaud them but God maybe saying: " I have this against you" like he said to one of the churches in the book of revelation. In today's world, I discovered that it takes being regular on social media with well packaged pictures and posts( lies and exaggeration as testimonies) to become popular but heaven's media doesn't recognize them.
Some may run from the place God established them to another location because they want to "blow" having seen friends "making" it in the ministry but they end up becoming social media champions instead of territory takers. John the baptist stayed in the wilderness(Matthew 3:1) and discharged his calling faithfully.The Bible said, "People from Jerusalem and from all of Judea and all over the Jordan Valley went out to see and hear John."(Matthew 3:5 NLT). If God has called you into a ministry that is not popular or generally accepted by people you deemed spiritual, please stay faithful. If God has called you to into field ministry, don't go and plant or sit over a church because of tithe and offering. Stay faithful to that calling, pay day is coming. God doesn't pay on Friday, he pays on time. The moment you pursue "blowing" and you abandon faithfulness, you cannot complete your assignment.
