*Psalms 23:2 He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters.
STILL WATERS- THE PLACE OF COMMUNION
In 2011, I visited an Island that was partly surrounded by the Atlantic ocean and the lagoon at the rear end of the Island. At night, the roaring waves of the sea made so much noise that one could hear from sleep but when you move away from the Atlantic towards the rear of the Island, the story is different. The waters are still and calm, it is a good place to study and meditate but I doubt if one can do any meaningful mental work beside that noisy Atlantic ocean.
Stillness of heart can only be found in the place of communion with God. As we study and meditate on God's word, it makes our hearts to be still. Most times, our hearts are noisy because of cares, worries and anxieties. The hustling and bustling of today's world has made our hearts to be in constant talking mode even when our lips are not moving. Some even talk to themselves while walking.
Noisy hearts can't hear God neither can they know God. The Psalmist said, "He says, “Be still, and know that I am God;..." (Psalms46:10). You need that stillness of heart to receive divine instruction from God for your life. The work of the Shepherd is to direct the sheep to where the waters are still. David knew the impact of still waters on the sheep. The Spirit of Jesus would lead believers to the place of communion with God because that is where stillness of heart can be achieved. Allow the Shepherd of your soul to have his way.
CONFESSION: I walk in the realities of Psalms 23 in the name of Jesus. Henceforth, my heart shall be aligned to the frequency of heaven to receive clearly from the throne of the father as I stay in the place of communion in Jesus name.
