NO ALTAR CULTURE
After Pharaoh planned that the fathers should leave their wives and children behind, what do you think he had in mind? He wanted to indoctrinate them with the ways and practices of Egypt so that they won't worship God with the fathers in the wilderness. Moses told Pharaoh that the purpose of their exodus from Egypt was to have time to worship God in the wilderness. God is seeking for people that will worship him. However, the worship of Yahweh is an art that can be taught and passed on from one generation to another. Pharaoh doesn't want that.
The devil is seeking to destroy the altar of worship for the next generation. If fathers leave their children behind in Egypt( symbolic of the world), the children won't know how to worship Jehovah in the right way. In Egypt, they have a pantheon of gods. Those that do not worship Jehovah will worship other gods. Every man is worshiping something. There is a stiff contenion for the next generation. It is very easy to pray alone, study the word alone and even leave our children behind when going for church services. Children learn more by watching and oberserving their parents. My sons knows when I'm praying and I do it intentionally for them to see because I want to initiate them into that lifestyle.
Europe has become a concern for missionaries today because of the alarming rate of decline in Christianity. There was a generation of revived Europeans who were on fire for the Lord. They took the gospel to every part of the world but they failed to initiate their children into their devotion. Today, the grandchildren and great grandchildren of those holy European men and women are living as though their generation never knew God. If we don't build a solid altar of fellowship and worship with God and include our children as well, we may lose them.We must be intentional about this.
Father, I receive the grace to pass on the baton of worship to the next generation in Jesus name.
