Ex10:11 Never! Only the men may go and worship the Lord , since that is what you requested.” And Pharaoh threw them out of the palace. NLT
LEAVE THEM BEHIND IN EGYPT
Anytime I read about the events that preceded the exodus of the Israelite from Egypt, all I see is God's power at work. God displayed his raw power so that he can free his own children from captivity. However, there is something I didn't see in that story not until recently. I noticed that as Moses was demanding for the freedom of God's people, Pharaoh had a plan. What was his plan? His plan was that he would release only the men to go while women and children would remain in Egypt. One should be curious to know why he wanted to do that. Probably he had the mind of marrying the women off to Egyptian men and to teach their children the Egyptian way of life as a means of preserving their pagan culture and tradition.
Egypt is symbolic of the world. The devil's tactics from time immemorial is to capture the minds of young people especially children and teenagers. He knows that the fathers would die very soon. Also, at the level of fatherhood, the mind is formed and made-up but at childhood and teenage years, the mind is fragile and can be programmed easily. Pharaoh knew this. He saw the future of Israel in those children. Joshua and Caleb were part of those children he wanted to detain but thank God for Moses. He said: "Moses replied, “We will all go—young and old, our sons and daughters, and our flocks and herds. We must all join together in celebrating a festival to the Lord.” (Exodus 10:9 NLT)
The devil's tactics is for us( fathers) to leave our wives and children behind in the world. His plan is that we become absentee fathers who care about the things of this world only while our children and wives suffer neglect and quality attention. When the fathers are not around, it becomes easy for Pharoah and his minions to teach them the ways of Egypt. Please, take your stand like Moses. Do not accept to leave your children behind. The system of the world is contending for our families.
Father, I will not leave my children and family behind in the name of Jesus.
