BANK ON GOD'S WORD

February 24, 2020 · Lanre Oyeleke · 2 views

Psalms18:30 This God—his way is perfect; the word of the Lord proves true; he is a shield for all those who take refuge in him

Years back during political campaigns, politicians made several promises to the electorate. A politician said any serious government would fix the issue of power in six months. When his party came on board, they maintained the status quo in that aspect. I have seen how politicians denied their promises. Years after the electorates are calling them to account on what they said, they quickly deny it or they give excuses on why they can't make good their word. At least, it is common in the part of the world where I come from. When growing up, we've had uncles and aunties made several promises to us but they failed. Why? They are imperfect humans.

The opening text says that God's way is perfect. No perfect man exist on the face of the earth. I have not seen one. Everyone is walking towards perfection. However, God is perfect God. The reason why we can bank on his word is because of his perfection. The words of a perfect man can be relied on. If he says he would do a thing, you can be very sure that it is done already. We all have lied at one point or the other in life. Sometimes, I have made the mistake of promising my children what I won't do probably because I want to shrug off their disturbance but the scriptures says, "God forbid: yea, let God be true, but every man a liar; as it is written, That thou mightest be justified in thy sayings, and mightest overcome when thou art judged".(Rom3:4).

We believe so many things even when it is obvious they are lies but most times we find it hard believing God's word from a perfect God. If you want to enjoy the riches of redemption, one of the things that must be your anchor is total faith in God's word. Stop believing what the doctors say would happen to you, stop reading the portion of bad news about the economy. The more you feed your mind with those junks the more you believe them. As you believe them, they manifest in your life. Feed your mind with God's word on that area of need and believe it even in the face of contrary circumstances.

CONFESSION: Father I thank you for your word. As from today, I shall feed, meditate and bank on your word in Jesus name.
