Phil1:9-I pray that your love will overflow more and more, and that you will keep on growing in knowledge and understanding. NLT
There are several Pauline prayers in the new testament and one of them can be found in the opening scripture above. Those prayers were directed to the saints of God like you and I who are partakers of this wonderful life of Christ. When we pray scriptures like this daily, we shall conform to the very image of Christ.
The first prayer point was that our love should overflow more and more. The way of Christ is the way of love. God expects us to love him and to increase in that love. The first thing the devil attacks in the life of a believer is his love-walk with God that is why the bible said that in the last days, the love of many shall wax cold because sin shall abound.
Loving God isn't an emotional feeling but an act of obedience to his word that proves that we're willing to please him only. Paul further prayed that the believers should grow in the knowledge and understanding of God. Some believers truly have zeal but their zeal is without knowledge&understanding.
We need Love + knowledge+ understanding so as to attain the desired height in God in our walk with him.
This is my prayer for you and for myself that our love would increase daily and that our knowledge&understanding of God would exceed the previous daily In Jesus name. Amen
