1Tim1:19 Cling to your faith in Christ, and keep your conscience clear. For some people have deliberately violated their consciences; as a result, their faith has been shipwrecked. NLT
Recently, I was teaching a small group and I spoke a little about conscience. The scripture talked about some people whose conscience has been seared as with a hot iron. They hardly can decipher between what is right and wrong because they've lost that thing that checks them when they're wrong. It is called conscience.
Someone said if you don't have the Holy Spirit, you will have a conscience. Some people's conscience isn't working anymore because they willingly violated or disobeyed their conscience persistently. When their conscience pricks them about the wrong they did, they will ignore it willingly and hence; the voice of their conscience starts dying.
We live in a world where what used to be wrong has been accepted as right. The rise of same-sex marriage and advocacy for it even by clerics is a pointer to the fact that there are men with dead conscience. You must keep your conscience alive with the word&prompt obedience so that you won't end-up seeing right as wrong&vice-versa.
God put the conscience in each of us a safe guide for our walk with him. The simplest key to backsliding is to ignore one's conscience persistently.
I receive grace to keep my conscience alive in Jesus name. Amen
