2Tim1:6 This is why I remind you to fan into flames the spiritual gift God gave you when I laid my hands on you. NLT
Timothy was a spiritual son to Paul the Apostle. Timothy had a legacy of christian devotion passed on to him from his mother and grandmother. Paul raised him in ministry and put him over a church as a Pastor right from when he was a young man.
Paul laid his hands on him to impart some spiritual gift to him and hence he was admonished to fan into flames what was imparted into him. Do you know that if you don't fan into flames the spiritual gifts you have, they'll lie dormant? Yes, some of us have been to several impartation services where we were slain under the power of God or where we knew something was added to our lives.
When we don't use what we've been given, it dies. Spiritual endowments requires usage for more to flow. When God gives you a word of knowledge, don't be shy to speak it out, if you don't, you may loose it. The gifts of God in your life isn't just for your benefit but for the body of Christ.
You can only fan those gifts into flames as you walk regularly with God, fellowship in word, prayer&fasting and ultimately prompt usage of the gifts when stirred by the Spirit.
I fan into flames the gifts of God in my life In Jesus name. Amen
