There are many reasons alluded to the death of Jesus Christ on the cross. We have been told that he died to give us a new life and to set us free from the shackles of death. Sometimes, the emphasis is on fringe benefits which can only manifest here on earth and this is very good also. I preach it because that is what the bible said.
There's an aspect of Christ's death that many leave out and that is eternity with Christ. If you're free from demonic oppression, become wealthy and live a very comfortable life because Christ paid for it, if you don't reign with Christ in heaven, you are yet to fulfil the ultimate purpose of his death. The ultimate purpose of Christ death is for us all to make it to heaven.
God wants you to be where he is. Don Moen sang a song years back, he said 'I just want to be where you are, dwelling daily in your presence'. The reality of that song can only materialise when we get to heaven. I want you to have a burning desire to be with God and in his presence in heaven. His death secured heaven for us and we must strive to get there.
Father, I receive grace to be heaven conscious In Jesus name. Amen.
If you are not born again, you cannot make it to heaven. Pray this prayer with me: 'Dear Father, I know I'm a sinner. Forgive me and wash my sins away with the blood of Christ. I confess Christ as my Lord&saviour In Jesus name.' Amen
