Phil1:11 May you always be filled with the fruit of your salvation—the righteous character produced in your life by Jesus Christ—for this will bring much glory and praise to God. NLT
When you sow a mango seed for example, the seed would die in the soil and later grow to become a tree that will produce mango fruits. You can liken that to the life of a christian. When we gave our lives to Christ, we died with Christ and we were raised with him in the newness of life. That is symbolized by the immersion type of baptism we do in most of our churches.
God is regarded as the husband man in John 15. Christ is the vine and we are the branches, because of our connection to Christ, God is expecting us as Christians to tap into the life in the vine( Christ) and make use of it to produce much fruit. That fruit is what is commonly known as the fruit of the spirit. According to Galatians 5:22-, the fruit of the spirit is Love, joy, peace, patience, gentleness, faithfulness, meekness, kindness and self-control.
Anointing is good, power is needful but the most important thing in the life of a believer is the fruit of the spirit. Manifesting it is what will qualify us for heaven. On daily basis, we should seek to cultivate the soil of our lives with God's word by abiding with Christ and submitting ourselves to the prunning of the Spirit, that is how we can bear much fruit.
Father, cause me to produce much fruit in Jesus name. Amen.
