I started preaching in JSS 2 with a class mate. He started a class fellowship and I was assisting him to pastor the class fellowship. At that time, our school principal cancelled the general christian fellowship but a revival broke out from my class and in less that a session, the school was on fire. We held special programmes that even attracted students from different classes with some of our teachers in attendance.
Our knowledge about God was limited but God honoured our faith. When we got to the senior class, we backslided&it was messy. Later on when I re-dedicated my life to Christ, I learnt about discipleship and I discovered that discipleship was the missing link in my walk with God when I was in high school. We were zealous for God but we had no Priscilla and Aquila to show us the way even more.
As a leader, either in ministry or business, you need an Aquilla&Priscila that will disciple you and explain things better to you. I've preached some messages in the past that attracted correction from my spiritual father. An Aquila&Priscila is symbolic of a spiritual father, someone who has gone ahead of you and has a better understanding than you do.
Now, I don't see myself as a spiritual grown-up. I still consult my Aquila&Priscila for mentoring, discipleship&rebuke. He that lacks a father will not have the feather to fly.
